This photo of a scarab beetle (Cyclocephala lurida) sitting atop
a Texas toad (Bufo speciosus) was taken around 10:00pm on June 8,
2005. The toad and a large gathering of beetles were attracted to a
nearby black light trap.

Nikon D70 digital camera, 105mm Nikon micro lens, 1/60 sec; F/16; ISO 200;
with flash (speed light, repeating 1/8)
