Description:
This is a head-on view of a noctuid moth visiting a yellow composite
flower. The proboscis is in the feeding position indicating that
this moth prefers its meals “to go.” This specimen never
stopped beating its wings while feeding, making picture-taking a challenge.
Equipment/technique:
Canon D-60, 100 mm Canon macro, on camera flash. Cropped and brightened
using the Curves tool in Photoshop.
