Student Eligibility and Selection Process
Requirements for this program are as follows:
- Students should have a demonstrated interest in science, (indicated in ways such as a major in the biological, life, agricultural, although other majors will be considered),
- Students should have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale),
- Current TAMU-College Station students are not eligible for participation.
Recommended course work completed (preferred, but not required for selection) includes:
- Introductory biology
- Introductory chemistry
- Calculus-based mathematics
Selection Process
A committee of the faculty mentors and program coordinator will review all applications. Selection will be based on the following: the student essay; coursework and grades; letters of recommendation; contribution to diversity; relevant activities; and leadership and citizenship experience.
