Main-Display Screen Area
Overview
The Main-Display Area of
the Special Projects Finder Screen displays
user-selectable controls,
taxon lists and associated header and footer information. With this Finder you
can locate taxa of interest by scanning taxonomically and alphabetically
arranged lists of TIARA system taxa that have been constructed for special
purposes, e.g., focused taxonomic or geographic faunas, economically important
taxa by commodity. Each taxon list contains direct links to the Taxon Home Pages of all
of the taxa it displays.
Taxon List Header Lines
- Finder name and option
- Total taxon counts for the active taxon list and Finder Option for
each of the major Linnean ranks
User-selectable Controls
- "Select a finder option:" combo box - Make a choice from the "Select a finder option:" combo box to switch among the available options of the
Special Projects Finder. Selecting an option from the combo box
automatically and immediately loads the chosen Finder option.
- "Select the lowest rank for the list:" combo box - Make a choice from the
"Select the lowest rank for the list:" combo box to set the lowest
taxonomic ranked taxa to be displayed in the list. Selecting an option from
the combo box automatically and immediately modifies the displayed list to
reflect new rank selection. Lists that contain large numbers of taxa (ca.
>500) may be slow to load.

) - Click on the yellow Taxon Home Page Icon to link directly to the Home Page of
the named taxon that the icon immediately follows.
- "Top" text
link - Click on the Top link (located below the taxon list) to jump to the top of the Main-Display Screen Area.
- Scroll Bars - Depending upon your monitor screen
size and the length of the classification list, you may see scroll bars on
the right and/or bottom of the Main-Display Area. Use the scroll bars to move
the Main-Display Area vertically and/or horizontally to better view its
contents.
