Current Research Projects
- Presently working with researchers at University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston providing field collections of tick species from public and private lands in SE Texas which are screened for the geographic prevalence of pathogens that are of medical and veterinary importance.
- Assisting U.S. Armed Forces PhD. candidates from the Entomology Dept. with field collections of ticks, fleas, and lice from captured feral swine across differing ecological sites in Texas
- Coordination, collection, and preparation of research experiments for an international pharmaceutical company evaluating the efficacy of various chemical compounds to control ticks.
- Continued collaboration with scientists at USDA/ARS SPARC researching various non-chemical tick control strategies.
- Ongoing support and maintenance of tick research colonies for faculty, staff, and student research and teaching projects.
