Ryan Caesar

Ryan M. Caesar obtained his B. A. in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin. After taking elective courses under Dr. John Abbott in General and Aquatic Entomology, he was hooked on the field and decided to attend Texas A&M University. He is now pursuing a M. S. in Entomology with an emphasis on systematics and evolutionary biology under Dr. Anthony Cognato. His research focuses on population genetics of Ptiliids of Northern California, in order to assess the efficacy of conservation practices in the Klamath-Siskiyou ecoregion. A side project is a Phylogenetic revision of Cylindrostethine water striders using morphological and molecular approaches. He is also passionate about the biology of the Odonata. Other interests include nature photography, exploring Northgate, watching Texas Longhorn football, reading and cooking.
