EGSO General Business Meeting

Minutes

February 17, 2003

2:30 pm, Heep 413/414

Graduate Students (Including Officers): 7

Advisors: Dr. Wharton, Dr. Cognato

I. Big Event-David

a. It is one-day student activity. The purpose is to thank the community where we live.

b. Date: March 29^th at 8:45 am.

c. You have to fill a form (Mark). Also they do have a website where you can take a look of news updates. http//bigevent.tamu.edu/

d. Activities included mostly household stuff.

e. Students were encouraged to participate.

II. Bioblitlz- Bobb Gorena

a. If you want to participate, Bobb is the person to contact. It will be the first week of April, Friday and Saturday.

b. We will have probably a butterfly tent, black light and short walks.

c. Students are cordially invited to participate in this fun activity. If you are interested please contact Bobb.

III. Money Freeze- Mark Johnsen

a. The money is still frozen at least until March.

IV. Entoblitz-Ryan Caesar

a. We will have potentially an “Entoblitz” this Spring.

b. Ryan has contacted people in the National Guard and the Camp Maxy will be a good place for collecting. This camp is close to the border with Oklahoma.

V. Department Head-Mark Johnsen

a. As you know, Dr. Rutz from Cornell is not longer a candidate.

b. Mark informed that the Search Committee is open for nominations for 2-3 months.

c. Teresa will post all info possible in the Entograd email-server.

VI. Miscellaneous

a. Students were friendly asked to send a short resume to Mark. This will be included with your picture.

b. Mark informed that more T-shirts are being printed during this days.

c. Bobb reminded people about the “Ecological Symposium” being held this Saturday!!
