EGSO General Business Meeting – Minutes

January 27, 2003

4:00 pm, Heep 413/414

Advisors: Dr. Cognato and Dr. Wharton

Students: 13 (including officers)

I. Website – Mark Johnsen

a) The website for EGSO is up and running!! Students were encouraged to write a short paragraph and suggest useful links that will be included to their picture. Mark is open for suggestions and ideas to improve the site.

II. Money Freeze- Mark Johnsen

a) Due to money problems at the state level, the GPE money is frozen among others. Therefore, the New Next Call of Mini Grants that had a deadline of February 3, 2003 is canceled. Also, students that already received the Mini-Grant but have not spent it need to contact Ryan Caesar as soon as possible.

b) The situation of the rest of GPE accounts will be clarified around February 07.

III. T-Shirt – Mark Johnsen

a) All most all the T-shirts were sold out in the PCO conference and more new orders were taken.

b) The cost of the T-shirt was ~$7 and it was sold at $13

c) Bob Gorena, Walker Hale and Mark received congrats for their good job.

IV. Computer and Projector – Mark Johnsen

a) It was voted and for unanimous vote, both will be located at Dr. Cognato’s office (Second Floor Heep). In case Dr. Cognato is not there, Ryan Caesar or Jessica Uesner can help you.

V. Miscellaneous

a) Introduction to new Ph. D students: Cuco (Dr. Bernal) and Sonia (Dr. Olson).

b) Annual Departmental Meeting-FREE LUNCH, 10-12 pm. College Station Conference Center, room 101. 1300 George Bush Drive.
