Marvin K. Harris

Title: Professor of Entomology

Education:

Program Description : The specific goals of my program are: 1) to conduct research to develop decision-making tools and approaches to be used by agricultural stakeholders in implementing pest management, primarily in pecan, vegetables, cotton, rice and corn; 2) to provide a program suitable for education of graduate students in production agriculture; 3) to contribute to the teaching mission of Texas A&M by developing, delivering and revising formal courses in entomology and related fields and teaching them on a regular basis, and to contribute to science, emphasizing research on plant-insect interactions, host plant resistance, and transgenic technologies. Service activities are also conducted with professional societies and TAMU student clubs.

Teaching Activities:

ENTO 402 Row Crop Insects Spring 2004-06
ENTO610 Host Plant Resistance Spring 2004-06
ENTO481 Seminar Fall/Spring 2004-06
ENTO481W Seminar-Writing Fall/Spring 2004-06
