Heinz Receives Vice Chancellor's Award in Excellence for Administration![]() Dr. Kevin Heinz standing with Dr. Mark Hussey Congratulations to Dr. Kevin Heinz, Professor and Head, for receiving the Vice Chancellor's Award in Excellence for Administration from Texas A&M AgriLife. Dr. Heinz oversees 339 professionals and a budget of almost $7.5 million. Under his leadership, the entomology program has become one of the fastest-growing and most diverse programs in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, now with more than 170 majors, double-majors, and minors. It is also recognized as the largest undergraduate entomology program in the nation. Dr. Heinz led the development of the department’s new degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences, one of the hottest new academic ideas ever to come to A colleague wrote, “It is refreshing and rewarding to hear people at the Entomological Society of America meetings approach us to say, ‘We cannot believe what we are hearing; how have you done this?’ And ‘What are you doing next?’” and all under the leadership and vision of Dr. Kevin Heinz.
