Roger Gold, Ph.D.
Congratulations to Dr. Roger E. Gold,
Professor and Endowed Chair, Urban and Structural Entomology.
For the past eleven years, Dr. Gold has taught Entomology 322: Insects in Society, a class he developed for non-majors who needed a science course as part of their core curriculum. His creative teaching methods-including the use of
props, role playing, music, poetry, art, and even magic demonstrations ---helped to earn him the Association of Former Students Distinguished Achievement Award for Teaching in 2003.
One of his students said: "Dr. Gold is by far one of the greatest profs at Texas A&M. Ifhe only could have taught every course I took! Not only does he have a positive attitude toward his area of study; his concern with the success of his students is amazing."
