Scientific name: Haematopinus suis (Linnaeus)
Facts: The hog louse is yellowish in color and quite large for a louse, up to 1/4 inch
long. This sucking louse has a narrow head. It is a well known pest of hogs and
the numbers can build up especially in confined animal operations.
