Students Celebrate May Graduation
For a select number of students, this past Saturday was one of memories as they graced the Reed Arena stage with cap, gown, and smiles.
These students were among others in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences during morning commencement exercises.
The day began with students and family reminiscing about years past during a celebratory breakfast in the Entomology conference room.
Graduating senior Katelyn Chalaire and her mother, Kelly, were excited about graduation and graduate school.
"I am looking forward to going to graduate school," said Chalaire, who plans on getting her master's degree in entomology. "This really has been a great experience."
"We are very proud of her," Kelly Chalaire said. "We appreciate everything that everyone has done for her."
"I am ready to go," said Jordan Coburn, who plans on working on an IPM internship before beginning his coursework towards a master's degree in veterinary entomology.
Jonathan Cammack plans to get his master's degree in entomology and was excited about the students graduating.
"Congratulations to everyone that's graduating today," he said. "I want to thank the department for everything they have provided in the past four years."
Some will have good memories of years with friends and will be wishing them good luck in the years to come. Patricia Mullins will be missing Cammack and his friend, Andy Boswell, the most.
"I am going to miss them," Mullins said. "They are really cool and made my sophomore year."
Cammack's parents, Mark and Janet Cammack, were very excited about seeing their son graduate.
"We are very proud of him," Cammack's father, Mark said.
"It has been so great working with all of the students," senior academic advisor Rebecca Hapes said. "I wish them best in all their future endeavors."
