Congrats Fall 2009 Grads!

A number of Entomology and Forensic and Investigative Sciences students received an early Christmas as they received their diplomas during the fall commencement on December 18.
The students were part of a larger group of more than thousands of students during the 7pm exercise on Friday, which included the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Architecture, Science, Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
The celebration began as Families, friends and faculty shared memories over refreshments at a special reception held by the Department in the fourth floor atrium. Dr. Pete Teel, Associate Department Head for Academic Programs, welcomed everyone and was excited to see everyone celebrating the occasion.
"This really is a great graduating class and wish you all the best," he said. This commencement was also particularly noteworthy as the first graduate, Mr. Timothy O’Brien, from the recently formed Forensic and Investigative Sciences degree program picked up their diploma during the ceremony.
Lydia Wessner's brother Steve said their family was very proud of her. "This is very exciting," he said. "We are so excited of what lies ahead for her after graduation."
Tim O'Brien's father, Dave O'Brien was also excited and glad to see him finish this year. "We are glad it's finally done and proud of him," he said.
