Scientific name: Dynastes sp.
Facts: The unicorn beetles, or Hercules beetles, are particularly
striking insects. Some exceed 2 1/2 inches in length. The male has a
conspicuous horn that is about 2 inches long, making this beetle an
attractive addition to an insect collection. Unicorn beetles are
relatively rare.
