Scientific name: Hylotrupes bajulus (Linnaeus)
(Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)

Facts: The old house borer can be a pest of structural wood and as the name suggests they can build up in older wood buildings. This is unusual for a long-horned wood borer which typically will not attack dry wood. This pest was apparently imported from Europe by accident many years ago.
