Scientific name: Lygus lineolaris (Palisot de Beauvois)
Facts: Adults are oval, flattened and about 1/4 inch long. They are
coppery-brown with whitish-yellow markings. Nymphs are similar but smaller.
Lygus bugs feed on a wide variety of plants including cotton and alfalfa.
They are sometimes pests. There are several similar related species.
