Scientific name: Haematopinus suis (Linnaeus)
(Phthiraptera: Haematopinidae)

Facts: The hog louse is yellowish in color, less than 1/16 inch long, with chewing mouthparts. This chewing louse has a wide head necessary to hold the mandibles that are part of the mouthparts.
