The geographic, climatic, and social diversity in Texas offers opportunities to provide educational programs on a wide-range of integrated pest management problems. There are more than 40 commercially produced food, feed and fiber crops, scores of ornamental plants, several species of food animals, and both urban and rural settings that are each associated with dozens of insect pest species. Extension Agents- IPM located at the county level and interacting with producer clientele on a daily basis provide an ideal environment for developing and delivering interdisciplinary educational programs which provide practical solutions to important pest problems.
