Caterpillars, webworms
Question:
Please advise the best chemical spray to use when attempting to eliminate silkworms in a sycamore tree.
Answer:
I think you are referring to fall webworms rather than silk worms. Please see our publication on these worms at the link below. Keep in mind that an insecticide kills the caterpillars but does not remove webbing. You would have to remove the webbing manually with a stick or by pruning.
